Privacy notice

Last updated 11 August 2026.

This notice covers this website and the waitlist form on it. It is short because the site does one thing: it takes an email address so we can tell you when Portie is ready.

The app collects nothing

Portie itself has no account and no backend. Parsing, indexing and search all run on your iPhone, nothing an import contains is uploaded anywhere, and removing an import removes its files and its index. There is no data from the app for this notice to describe, because none of it reaches us. Everything below is about the website only.

Who is responsible

M7KNI Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17385187, is the data controller for the waitlist. You can reach us through the contact form on m7kni.com.

What the waitlist stores

  • The email address you enter.
  • The platform you optionally pick from the list. It tells us which export format to finish first. Leaving it blank is fine and changes nothing.
  • When you signed up, when you confirmed, and when you unsubscribed.
  • A consent version, which records the wording that was next to the button on the day you agreed to it.
  • The hashes of your confirmation and unsubscribe links. The links themselves are never stored — they exist only in the email we sent you — so a copy of the database does not let anyone confirm or unsubscribe an address they do not control.

Your address is not on the list until you open the link in the confirmation email. If you never open it, the row expires unused and nothing is ever sent to you again.

What we use it for

Two emails, and nothing else: one when the TestFlight build opens, and one when Portie ships. We do not sell, share or rent the list, we do not send anything else to it, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.

The lawful basis is your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR. You gave it by entering your address and confirming it, and you can withdraw it at any time.

How to get off the list

Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and one click is enough — you do not have to reply, log in or explain. Your row is marked unsubscribed immediately and nothing further is sent to it.

How long it is kept

Until Portie ships and the second email has gone out, or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. After the launch email the list has done its job and is deleted.

Who else handles it

The site runs entirely on Cloudflare, which acts as our processor. Cloudflare hosts the page, stores the list in a database in its network, sends the confirmation email, and provides the Turnstile bot check on the form. Turnstile looks at your IP address and browser signals to decide whether a request is automated; it is there so a public form cannot be used to send mail to people who did not ask for it.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics. There is no tracking pixel, no advertising tag, and no third-party script other than the Turnstile widget on the form, which may store a short-lived token in your browser while it runs its check. The fonts are served from this site, not from a font provider, so loading the page does not tell anyone else that you visited.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to what we are doing with it. For this list, deletion is the unsubscribe link and it is instant. For anything else, use the contact form.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator. We would rather you told us first, but you do not have to.
